Access to the beach is from the cliff top roads of the town via long slopes.
The sands are washed by the sea twice a day and when the tide is out large areas of firm sand are exposed; ideal for making sand castles, playing cricket or rounders or just relaxing in a deck chair.

The beach to the east is used by the local fishermen to land their catch of famous Cromer Crabs and lobsters. Also nearby is the Lifeboat museum.

Walking along the promenade and looking up you will see a wonderful facade of Victorian buildings rising high above you. An early morning walk will give the opportunity of seeing the sun rise over the sea and returning later in the day to the same spot the sun can be seen setting over the sea.

The Blue Flag lifeguarded beach in the summer provides a safe swimming environment. Please do look for and take note of the warning flags that may be flying on the beach at the time of your visit.

Please also look for the notices relating to the times and conditions for taking dogs with you onto the beach.
Climbing the face of the exposed cliffs can be dangerous. Likewise if walking along the natural cliff top do make sure that you do not walk too close to the edge without ensuring that there is sufficient firm ground beneath you.
