The two most well known areas are Blakeney and Morston. There is a car park at each and Morston has an information centre. Nearby is Stiffkey Marshes.

There is footpath that links Blakeney Quay and Morston Quay with good views.

Before walking out to Blakeney Point is makes sense to check the tide times. Much of the walking is over stones so appropriate footwear is esential.

A visit by boat to see the seals and birdlife at the point is an alternative. Bishop’s boats [see web link] run regular trips when conditions are suitable. Depending upon the weather clothing that you take is important; warm weather at the quayside does not necessarily mean warm when out at sea. Conditions can change rapidly so a pullover and light anorak should be taken, just in case.

Brancaster, further west, has a host of coastal flora and also is the site of the Roman fort Branodonum. A NT car park is adjacent to the Royal West Norfolk GC.

Nearer to Roman Camp Caravan Park, in fact right opposite the site entrance is West Runton woods, the highest point in Norfolk.

Further down towards Sheringham interesting walking is to be had on Beeston Regis Heath with sea views from Incleborough Hill.
